This book forms a comprehensive work on Pali literature. The first part in the book deals with the chronology and general history of the Pali Pitakas. The origin of Pali and importance of Pali as one of the Indian languages is discussed briefly in the introduction. A systematic and critical treatment of chronology of Pali canon follows the next throwing a new light on this difficult subject. The second part includes the extra canonical works by the Pali manuals, Pali literary piece, Pali grammar lexicographic and other works.
