Temples of Goa are repository of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Goan people. Though these shrines have been built strictly according to the rules laid down in 'Vastu Shastra', their exteriors often show western architecture influences. The author of this book Kamla Mankekar has widely traveled across India and is a keen observer of architectural beauty. She has studied the architecture of most of the Hindu temples and Shrines and puts forth her observations of some temples in Goa. Author contributes the style of architecture and locations of the Goan temples further describing the architectural traditions, various worshippers and their deities, folk deities, along with the art in the temples.
