The book is about the historical events during 1689 to 1761 after the tragic death of Sambhaji Maharaj.Chatrapati Sambhaji had a short life span, but his widow Tararani saw nearly 86 years of her life. After death of Rajaram, Tararani managed to fight with the Mughals and their son Shivaji attained the control as an heir. After the death of Aurangzeb, Shahu Maharaj went to Satara and the dispute of property uprooted.Senapati Dhanaji Jadhav entered in the party of Shahu Maharaj hence forming 2 parts of Swarajya. Separate controls were formed by Tararani at Kolhapur and Shahu Maharaj at Satara. Shahu Maharaj did not have any heir for the Kingdom. So he introduced his grandson who was kept under secret custody, whose name was Ramraja. But later Tararani imprisoned Ramraja and took the Kingdom under his control. In the 2nd and 3rd part, author presents the explanations on the dispute over Tararani, Ramraja and Balaji Vishwanath Peshwe between G.H.Khare and Appasaheb Pawar, without drawing any conclusions. In the 4th Chapter, original letter by Ramchandra Amatya praising Santaji Ghorpade is given in original Modi script. The 5th Chapter contains the conquer of Gingee compaign and the sixth Chapter has the poetic verses of description of Tararani by Vithaldas and Devdutta.
