The book is based on Hindu architecture emphasizing the shilpa- shastra divided in fourteen chapters. These chapters consist of determination of cardinal points, Hindu system of surverying, Hindu measurements, Hindu proportions or the relation between length and breadth, perimeter and the Yoni, tests for measurements, Hindu fractions and limiting values, the sacrificial Altars, Town planning, House planning, Sculpture, Silpis and the book concludes with the architectural terms.
