Balaji Vishwanath Peshwe was the first Peshwa of Shahu Maharaj I belonging to the Bhat dynasty of Shrivardhan. He was the founder of the Peshwa rule and the originator of the Peshwa rule and the originator of the ideology of 'Maratha Sanghrajya'. He was the father of the great Bajirao I and chimajiappa and a brave and able administrator with the ancestral heritage from Shrivardhan. Balaji Peshwe had plenty of degrees/designations in various regions like secretary, Peshwa, Senapati, writer etc. From 173 to 1720, he was on the tenure of Peshwa, where he provided a great support to the rule of shahu Maharaj. This is the first detailed biography of such an able Peshwa in Marathi language.
